Have placed order for dewar/cryostat

August 12th, 2020 by pstsola

Have placed our order for the dewar/cryostat. This is a specialized piece of equipment with likely arrival early next year, subject of course, to possibility of Covid-19 delays. Are now organizing a liquid nitrogen tank and liquid nitrogen deliveries.

I have a question regarding when the person dies (let’s use myself as an example) If I have paid all the fee’s and everything is in order. How will you be notified to collect my body in a prompt manner, given time is golden. How does this process work and how long can my body be preserved before your company is able to retrieve it?

Hi Ben, we are currently putting together a video to help with this, but I will try to answer briefly. There is a chain of events that happens. The assumption in all this is that you have paid all the fees and everything is in order. Usually a patient has at least 3 days before their actual death occurs, assuming they are in a hospital. A representative of the patient contacts us and we organize professional help at your hospital bed through an organization like CryoPath (or whoever you have the arrangements with) [http://www.cryopath.org/cryopath/]. Cryopath are set up to professionally handle this and basically take it from there until you are delivered at our facility. The “at least 3 days notice” covers most major cities in Australia. If in say Sydney or Melbourne (under normal circumstance) this could be down to 1 to 2 days notice, but the more notice the better. If you body is preserved by CryoPath you have about 2 weeks in dry ice with negligible negative effects. If you need more please contact me on Peter@southerncryonics.com.
